Because accessibility matters
Web structures play an increasingly important role as a medium of information across all areas of modern society; consequently, ensuring universal access to information has become a key area of action.
The pages of this portal have been designed and reviewed in accordance with the guidelines set out in the ‘Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0’ document, issued by the W3C’s WAI working group. The aim of these guidelines is to facilitate access to information provided via the Internet for all citizens.
Design, navigation, and interactivity
We have aimed to ensure consistent navigation throughout the portal by using the same structural layout on every page. In addition, we have included direct links to access page content and have avoided the use of JavaScript for site interaction wherever possible.
We have also separated the content from its visual presentation, allowing users who wish to do so to browse the site faster by disabling the downloading of style sheets in their browser.
